Privacy Policy for SubTracker

Effective date: July 19, 2026

SubTracker ("the app", "we", "us") is a subscription-tracking app for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles, what our third-party service providers collect, and the choices available to you. SubTracker does not require an account and does not operate a backend server of its own — the sections below explain exactly what that means in practice.

In short: the subscriptions, prices, and notes you enter into SubTracker are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us or to any server we control. The only data leaving your device is what Google's advertising and billing services collect on their own, described below.

1. Information we do not collect

Everything you enter in SubTracker — subscription names, prices, billing dates, categories, payment labels, and notes — is stored locally on your device in an on-device database. We do not operate any server, we do not have accounts or sign-in, and we cannot see, receive, or back up this data ourselves. If you export your data to CSV, that file is created and shared entirely at your direction (see Section 4) — we never receive a copy.

2. Information collected by third-party services

SubTracker uses two Google services to support the app's free tier and optional subscription upgrade. These services operate under their own privacy policies and may collect data independently of the app's own code:

Service Used for Data it may collect
Google AdMob Showing ads to free-tier users Advertising ID, device/app info, approximate location, ad interaction data
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) Collecting your ad-consent choice where required (e.g. EEA, UK) Consent status, general region
Google Play Billing Processing the optional SubTracker Pro subscription purchase Purchase details, transaction ID — handled entirely by Google Play; SubTracker never sees your payment details

On first launch, and again wherever required by local law, SubTracker shows a consent form (via Google's UMP SDK) before loading personalized ads. You can change your ad consent choice at any time from Settings → Privacy in the app.

3. Permissions the app requests

Permission Why it's needed
Notifications To remind you before a subscription renews. You can decline this permission or turn reminders off per-subscription, and the app still works fully without it.
Receive boot completed To reschedule your daily renewal-reminder check after your device restarts.
Internet Used only by the Google Ads and Google Play Billing SDKs described above. SubTracker's own features (tracking, reminders, the home-screen widget, CSV export) work completely offline.

4. Exporting your data

SubTracker lets you export your subscription list to a CSV file on your own device. You choose where that file goes — for example, saving it or sharing it through another app of your choosing via Android's standard share sheet. We do not receive a copy of this export, and generating it does not require an internet connection.

5. Data retention and deletion

Because all subscription data lives in the app's local storage on your device, it is retained for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling SubTracker (or clearing its storage in Android Settings) permanently deletes this data — we have no copy to retain or delete on our end. Your premium subscription status (if purchased) is managed by your Google Play account and is unaffected by reinstalling the app.

6. Children's privacy

SubTracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is a general personal-finance utility intended for a general audience.

7. Your choices

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, where the change is material, note it within the app. Continued use of SubTracker after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
